In Pakistan at the city of Rawalpinidi, as I navigated through the dark alley on the first floor of the gurdwara that now serves as the premises of the Special Branch of the Police Department, the remains of a grand chandelier caught my attention. While it was still anchored to the roof with a heavy iron chain but had been pulled aside on the alley of the first floor.

The sprawling premises of this gurdwara and its rich frescos, on the verge of extinction, served as a reminder of its once grandiose where people would flock to rid their minds of evil! However, seven decades later, now the Police use the premises to interrogate people to decipher their potential evil intents!
